Shubuta, Mississippi — Michael A. Chiaradio, founder of the Center Solutions Party, is taking a strong stance on religious freedom, reinforcing the idea that the United States is not, and should not be, a “Christian nation,” not even informally.
“Most people take religious freedom for granted, but some still argue that America should be a ‘Christian nation,’” Chiaradio said. “I don’t believe that’s true. The United States should be a place where people can have a real, personal relationship with God – the right way.”
Chiaradio explained that true faith requires free will, and the American system is uniquely designed to allow people to seek God for themselves. “God made humans to be free, unequivocally,” he said. “Our system allows for that necessary act of stepping forward and making an effort to seek God. That’s how it’s supposed to be, no matter your religion. The United States creates the perfect environment for that.”
While acknowledging America’s imperfections, Chiaradio remains optimistic. “We’re improving. I hope my generation, now stepping into leadership, can help even more. And I’m hopeful that Gen Z will do even better.”
Addressing the Israel-Hamas War
Chiaradio also addressed speculation about his stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict, saying that people close to him assume he supports Israel due to the biblical backdrop. However, he made it clear that today’s Israel is not the biblical Israel.
“There are serious problems with Israel’s actions but, in my view, these actions are just an extension of bad United States policy. At this point, we’ve effectively dehumanized large pockets of Middle Easterners and we’ve entered a cycle of simply responding to terror with terror. It’s disgusting for all parties involved and, make no mistake, the United States is an involved party.”
“Globalism Is Not Dead—It’s Stronger Than Ever”
Turning to the Russia-Ukraine war, Chiaradio warned that the United States is not as strong as it once was. He pointed out how Donald Trump had promised to stop the Russia-Ukraine war before even taking office, only to shift his rhetoric once in power.
“After just a few days in office, Trump suddenly said China had the power to end the war immediately,” Chiaradio noted. “The media didn’t cover it properly, but that was terrifying. China is becoming what the United States was. They kept Russia’s economy afloat, and we had no counter to that.”
Chiaradio pushed back against the idea that globalism is collapsing, arguing that it’s actually becoming more powerful.
“Americans shouldn’t be fooled,” he said. “You hear people say ‘Globalism is dead.’ But it’s not. It might be stronger than ever, and it’s going to leave you behind if you’re not careful.”
Still, he emphasized that America’s focus should be domestic: “We need to work with all nations as much as possible. We need to invest in resetting some of these tough relationships. But most importantly, we have to get our own house in order.”
