Shubuta, Mississippi — In a seemingly lighthearted video posted on social media Thursday, Michael A. Chiaradio, founder of the Center Solutions Party (CSP), made his stance clear: he does not support President Donald Trump’s recent rebranding of our cherished coastline.
“As far as I’m concerned, it’s the Gulf of Mexico. I’m not interested in the change,” Chiaradio declared when asked about the video on Friday.
Chiaradio emphasized that his objection isn’t merely about names, it’s about the principle behind Trump’s approach. “He’s setting us up to be against the rest of the world,” he explained. “I’m not saying he’s wrong about everything, but by making relationships adversarial, he creates longer term challenges for the country.”
Dating back to his academic work during his MBA program, Chiaradio has long championed further integration with Canada and Mexico.
He believes merging the three economies together would catalyze population growth, expand the tax base, and boost North America’s overall production capacity –factors critical for the United States to keep pace with an Asian continent poised for significant gains in the coming decades.
Taking the opportunity to clarify his broader vision, Chiaradio stated, “I’m here to build for the people, not to play politics. I’m not out to reverse legacies, I don’t care about that. Over a long enough time horizon, we’re all forgotten. What matters is the world we leave behind for the next generation.”
Sources close to Chiaradio say he supported Trump’s 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and that he broadly views corporate tax policy as an issue of national security given the highly mobile nature of today’s multinational companies.
“High taxes won’t fix our problems,” he insisted. “It’s time we better align our people’s interests with the corporations to drive real, positive change.”
Chiaradio acknowledged Trump is “a good businessman” and a proven builder in real estate, but he contends that Trump’s approach falls short on other fronts. “If you really listen to him talk, you can tell he’s not the best person to address issues like ownership concentration in the stock market or the tendency of corporations to dodge taxes and hoard cash overseas,” he said.
“But Trump is actually better than the Democrats on this issue,” he continued. “He just won’t do anything. Democrats, on the other hand, would kill the corporation and eat the rich if they could, and that would be terrible.”
A staunch advocate for pragmatic, people-first governance, Chiaradio’s overall vision centers on delivering tangible benefits for everyday Americans, especially in rural areas that have long been overlooked.
His platform is built on the belief that smart government support, implemented for a limited period, can catalyze economic growth without compromising the capitalist systems that have driven the United States to global leadership.
“The CSP has the right plan. We can put the stock market on a healthier path without destructive tax policies that repel business and talent.”
But Chiaradio says that our relationships with Mexico and Canada can help build an ecosystem where corporations can be constructive actors for the American people. Now, his concern is that Trump’s strong-arming tactics may do lasting damage.
Chiaradio’s message is resonating with those tired of endless partisan conflict and looking for a leader who can think strategically. As he considers a potential run for Mississippi’s District 3 U.S. House seat in 2026, his message remains clear: true leadership means standing up for what you believe in and working tirelessly to create opportunities for everyone, regardless of political affiliation.
