That vision hasn’t changed but, right now, CSP Founder Michael A. Chiaradio has his sights set on one of the most politically stagnant places in America: Mississippi.
His mission? To break the one-party stronghold within the state and restore real political competition.
Chiaradio’s move to Mississippi in early 2023 wasn’t random – it was strategic. With the CSP officially launched, it is now clear Chiaradio has been quietly laying the groundwork for years.
Armed with an MBA, experience working for a major government contractor, and a rare firsthand perspective gained through extensive travel across the United States, Chiaradio has built a unique understanding of America’s challenges.
That’s why more people are starting to believe he’s the right person to lead real change, not just in Mississippi, but across the country.
Mississippi’s Broken Politics
For Chiaradio, Mississippi has become more than just another stop on his winding journey, it has become his home. He bought a house, started a business, and even runs a small farm in Clarke County. He loves the rural, community-driven lifestyle and has deep respect for his neighbors and their hospitality.
But one thing is clear, Mississippi’s lack of political competition is hurting its people.
“Everyone knows we need a solid alternative to keep our politics healthy,” says Chiaradio. “Even Republicans agree. I talk to Republicans all the time, and they want to see real, healthy competition.”
But the competitive void is even more clear in Mississippi’s 3rd Congressional District, where Chiaradio now lives.
The District faces some of the worst poverty rates in the country, with many residents living in dangerous housing conditions and with extremely limited access to quality medical care. Yet, somehow, elections are often one-sided or even outright uncontested.
For example, in the 2024 General Election, no one even ran against the Republican incumbent for the U.S. House seat in District 3. No Democrat. No Independent. No one.
To Chiaradio, that’s a big problem. “If there’s only one choice, then there’s no accountability. That’s why nothing changes.”
Chiaradio’s Commitment to the American Family
People close to Chiaradio say one of his core motivations is to strengthen American families.
He has seen firsthand how the current system sets families up to fail, with tax penalties and welfare policies that discourage marriage and family formation. Too many single mothers and their children are left behind, and Chiaradio believes it’s time to change that.
“We should be rewarding family formation, not punishing it,” he says. “Our system tells single mothers not to get married because they’ll lose benefits. That’s wrong. Our people should be empowered to build strong families without being penalized for it.”
Chiaradio also believes the cultural narrative around family needs to change.
“I’ve learned that having a partner is more important now than ever. I didn’t always think this way, but I hope young people see marriage as a positive, empowering choice, not something to put off indefinitely.”
Of course, not everyone’s path will be the same. But Chiaradio insists that policy should incentivize stability, not create obstacles to it.
